Social Justice Ministry

Church of the Ascension Social Justice Ministry is an equal opportunity provider!

The Role of Social Justice Ministry is to bring about the vision of a just and peaceful reign of God both in the daily activities of our faith community and in the life of every parishioner.  If you want peace, you must work for Justice!  We believe Parish Social Ministry is an essential element of living our faith in Jesus Christ and helping to bring about the reign of God.

Those who become involved in these ministries have discovered their passions and see their involvement not as an added burden but as part of what keeps our parish alive and makes Social Justice Ministries help Ascension not only to do more, but to be more---more of a reflection of the gospel, more of a worshiping and evangelizing people and more of a faithful community.

Our ministries are organized among the 5 broad components of Social Justice which are direct service, advocacy, community organizing, global solidarity and Catholic Social teaching formation.

Social Justice Ministry is an essential part of our parish life and our parish tradition here.
