Liturgy Planning
Liturgy committee meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month for approximately 2 hours. Prepare and review Sunday and Holy Day liturgies to try to make worship a joyful and enriching experience. Liturgy involves everyone in the parish and it is a good way to get to know more about scriptures and the worship experience. Altar Servers

Banner/Vestment Design (Sewers and Makers)
Designers and sewers are needed for making banners and vestments for use in the Worship Center. Contact Person: Betty Hoffmann 499-5551
Environment in Worship Space and Commons
The use of cloth, artifacts, flowers and artwork are important elements within our worship space and commons. Your willingness to help design and create and place items is needed. Contact Person: Betty Hoffmann 499-5551
Drama

Eucharistic Minister
Adults needed for all weekend liturgies. Requires one pre-training course of approximately 2 hours. Arrive 15 minutes early for liturgy. Scheduling done 3 months in advance. Contact Person: Mary Kay Demorest 467-7145 mkdcoa@cox.net
Sacristy Coordinator

Lector
Readers are needed for all liturgies. One training session of approximately 2 hours is a prerequisite. Arrive 15 minutes early for Liturgy. Scheduling done 3 months in advance. Ages: Ninth grade and up. Contact Person: Robert Storms 467-4412 Westormin2@cox.net
Choir
Share your gift of musical talents for our liturgical celebrations. Ages high school - adult. Soprano, alto, tenor, bass positions. Cantor positions are by audition with the director and require workshop attendance. Instrumentalists

Soup and Sacrament
Homemade soup and bread is served Tuesday evenings during Lent - followed by Mass and a lecture series. Help is needed to prepare and serve. Contact Persons: Peg & Tony Dominguez 490-5442
Wedding Ministry
Acquaint the couple with the "logistics" of the church. Guide them through the guidelines of what is proper for a marriage to take place at Ascension with the sacrament being the focal point of the celebration, and be present on the day of the ceremony. The pre-planning can be time-consuming and the main ingredient necessary for this ministry is patience and good listening skills. If you are interested, please discuss this role with Fr. Jim. Ecumenical Ministry
The Lu therans, Anglicans, Roman Catholics and United Methodists (LARCUM) of Virginia ga ther regularly to find new ways to grow closer. As Parish representatives we participate in six set events every year and look for new ways to cooperate with local churches in Tidewater.
