Church of the Ascension Columbarium Garden

Just outside of the parish Chapel is the Columbarium and Meditation Garden which provide niches for the cremains of parishioners and a quiet environment for prayer. A large sculpture on the wall shows Jesus with outstretched arms welcoming all - both the living and the dead.

The Columbarium was completed in 2004 with the installation of ten walls. Currently, three walls are filled and the new wall open is Wall 2. Our Columbarium is for registered members of the parish and their immediate family members. The Diocese discourages Catholics from switching local parishes just to purchase in the Columbarium. We do not “hold” cremains on a temporary basis. The purchase of a Columbarium Niche is non-refundable.

Niche space: One niche is large enough for two urns. The price includes two urns, and only the urns provided can be used.

Payment: As of September 2020, the price of a niche is $1,000 for a single-urn and $1,500 for double-urn occupancy. We do not take reservations for niches; full payment is due at the time of purchase in the form of cash or check. We do not accept credit cards for Columbarium purchases. The purchase price includes: ownership of the niche (space), Deed for the niche, and the urn(s); the engraved stone(s); the perpetual care and upkeep of the Columbarium Garden.

If interested, it is recommended that you become familiar with the Columbarium Garden before purchasing. Contact the Parish Office for more information or to set a time to come in and purchase. Afternoons are the preferred time to see the Parish Secretary. Please allow 30 minutes to complete the transaction.
