World Food Day

First celebrated in 1979, World Food day takes place annually on October 16th, and promotes the awareness of hunger and action for the future of food, people and the planet. The theme this year is Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future!
Those who are able are asked to fill the bag with enough nonperishable food to feed a family of four for one day. Bags are due back by 1:30 Sunday, October 12. Tables will be set-up in the Commons.
The donated food will be distributed to Samaritan House, the Eastern Shore Migrant Ministry, St. Columba Ecumenical Ministry, Norfolk Catholic Worker, and the Ascension Food Pantry.
