First celebrated in 1979, World Food day takes place annually on October 16^th, and promotes the awareness of hunger and action for the future of food, people and the planet. The theme this year is Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future!

Those who are able are asked to fill the bag with enough nonperishable food to feed a family of four for one day. Bags are due back by 1:30 Sunday, October 12. Tables will be set-up in the Commons.

The donated food will be distributed to Samaritan House, the Eastern Shore Migrant Ministry, St. Columba Ecumenical Ministry, Norfolk Catholic Worker, and the Ascension Food Pantry.
